Judith Ann Finstad Payne, 60, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at Netherton Funeral Home. Memorial services will be conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps League Auxiliary at 3 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2006, at Netherton Funeral Home.

Judith was baptised at Bethany Lutheran church at Benton, Minn. She was confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Windom in 1960. Judith was inducted into the National Honor Society while in Windom, Minn., High School, from where she graduated in 1963. She went on to graduate from the prestigious Methodist Kahler School of Nursing at Rochester, Minn., in 1966. She enjoyed a long life of serving others at numerous hospitals as a registered nurse, serving as the director of nursing at several facilities. This career ended while she was working at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center as a staff nurse.

Judith was born as a twin of Ronald O. Finstad on March 31, 1945, to Lorraine Mildred and Owen Edgar Finstad in Mountain Lake, Minn.

Judith was preceded in death by her father and eldest brother Larry Odell. She has two brothers, Travis Edgar of Plymouth, Minn., and Ron Owen of Wilton, Wis.; and a sister, Marsha Humphreys of Rapid City, S.D.

Judith married Ronald T. Payne Dec. 30, 1978, in Smithville, Texas, bringing into the union two boys, Scott K. Nash and Shane K. Nash. Ronald brought three children, Kevin T. Payne, Shawn R. Schneider and Mya M. Roberson into their marriage.

Judiths grandchildren include Derk Payne, Rachel Fowler, Ashley Heinrich, Talon Miner, Halley Hereford, Londyn Miner, Brandi Miner and Jacobi Roberson; and two great-grandchildren of Rachel Fowler, Clare and Lauren Fowler; and a host of nieces and nephews
