This burglary was assumed to have occurred between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the 15th, when the homeowners were out of the house. The house was not locked when the burglary occurred.

In addition to this theft in southwest Perham, another attempted burglary was called in the same day only a few blocks away. This time, the house the young pair attempted to break into was occupied.

At 4:30 p.m., police received a call from a 10-year-old boy reporting that two people were breaking into his house. The boy called 911 after allegedly walking into the kitchen and seeing one boy and one girl trying to crawl in through the window located inside the back porch of his house.

According to the police report, the boy told the intruders to leave and the two juveniles took off running.

Perham police were able to track down the suspects and are charging the two juveniles with burglary. According to Perham Police Officer Mike Christopherson, the kids confessed to the crime and all of the money stolen was recovered.
