Perham senior Kenny Moenkedick has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at North Dakota State University.
Moenkedick won the Class AA Minnesota State Championship at 171 pounds this past season, finishing with a record of 43-0. He also went to state his junior season and finished with a 39-3 record.
He was a two-time Heart O Lakes Conference champion and four-time letter winner on the mat with had a career record of 164-32. Moenkedick also lettered in baseball and has been starting behind the plate this spring on the diamond for the Yellowjackets.

It just felt right, he said recently. I might have to put on a few pounds, he said smiling.
An academic all-state selection and National Honor Society member, Moenkedick plans to major in engineering. He is the son of Andy and Katy Moenkedick.
Moenkedick joins a class of 11 newcomers who will be competing for the Bison next winter. He is one of seven who will receive scholarships, with four more agreeing to walk-on.
NDSU just completed their third year of reclassification to NCAA Division I with a 6-6 record. The Bison will compete in the new Western Wrestling Conference next season and wrestlers will be eligible for the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
