The Lady Eagles were able to break a four-game slide last Thursday when they pounded out 16 hits in a 17-4 win over Parkers Prairie.

The game was part of a doubleheader, the first game serving as a make-up from a April 10 rain-out. The Panthers earned a split with NY Mills by winning game two, 5-4.

The Eagles got out on top with a three-run top of the first.

Ahead 4-1 in the top of the third, Mills put together a four-run inning. Kim Becker drove in Kristen Perala and later scored on a three-run homer by Sam Welter.

Parkers Prairie got three runs back in the bottom of the third, but the Eagles responded with three more in the top of the fourth. Perala hit a three-run homer of her own to give Mills an 11-4 lead.

The Eagles batted around in the top of the seventh for good measure, scoring their final six runs.

Seven NY Mills players had two hits. Seven also drove in at least one run.

In game two, Mills had a 4-3 lead heading into the seventh when Parkers Prairie rallied for two runs to win, 5-4. The Panthers took advantage of two errors and a passed ball to salvage a split.

The Eagles were trailing 3-0 when Sam Welter scored in the fifth inning. Mills scored three more in the sixth to take the lead on a RBI double by Becker and a two-run single by Welter.

The Lady Eagles will begin their final week of the regular season today (May 10) when they host Pillager. Mills won the earlier game with the Huskies, 21-1.

From there, NY Mills hits the road. They head north to Sebeka on May 15, looking for a season sweep over the Trojans after a 18-14 win on April 19. The Eagles close out the regular season on May 17 at Bertha-Hewitt. Mills is also looking for the sweep there after a 11-1 win over the Bears on April 24.
