Perham was faced with a potential playoff opponent Monday in the Annual 'Battle of the Bees'. If they do meet in the playoffs, the Yellowjackets may have picked up a psychological advantage after a 5-3 win.

"That is a big win for us," head coach Megan Johnson said. "Now we know we can play with them if we meet next week."

Frazee opened with one run in the first, but the Jackets took a 2-1 lead after single runs in the fourth and fifth. Frazee regained the lead with two in the top of the sixth, only to see Perham answer with three in the home half of the inning, with two scoring on a triple by Janet Malcolm.

"After a rough start defensively, the girls really settled in and made the plays they needed to in clutch moments. With each game, win or lose, they are getting the tools they need to cain confidence for next week."

The Jackets will likely face Frazee again in the first round of the 8AA Sub-Section playoffs next week. The first round will be played May 22 at the higher seed starting at 4 p.m. Wadena-Deer Creek will likely get the No. 1 seed. Pine River-Backes is the likely No. 4 seed, leaving Perham and Frazee in the 2-3 positions. Seedings will be released today (May 17). The Hornets eliminated Perham in last year's first round, 4-3.

Split with D.L.

Last Friday, Perham split a doubleheader with Detroit Lakes, that was a make-up from May 4 rain-out.

The Jackets committed five errors in a 9-5 loss in game one. They rebounded in game two for a 12-2 win. They didn't commit a single error in tho game. Offensively they were led by Amanda Snyder, who was 3-for-4 with three RBI.
