A 22-0 run by the Lady Yellowjackets drove them to their second win of the season last week as they won on the road in Breckenridge, 59-29.
A stingy defense sparked Perham's transition game, allowing them to pull away from the Cowgirls early in the first half. Breckenridge hit just four shots from the field as they trailed 39-14 at the half.
Perham turned it up a nother notch in the second half, allowing just three field goals as they pulled away with the easy win. The Jackets collected 23 defensive rebounds and had 17 steals to get their transition game moving.

"We played really well," said first year head coach Keith Johnson. "We were aggressive and put a lot of pressure on them."
Perham's front line dominated Breckenridge (1-2, 0-2 HOL). Sara Formanek led the way with 11 points and five rebounds. Elisa Moenkedick added 10 points along with six boards and three steals and Tiffany Schroeer contributed with eight points and a team-high seven rebounds. Tara Sailer just missed double digits in assists, finishing with nine.
Cold shooting in home opener
Because of last week's postponement against Ulen-Hitterdal, Perham had to wait until Monday night to debut at home. Unfortunately, the Hawley Nuggets spoiled the night for the home crowd with a 48-31 win.
The Jackets scored on three of their first four possessions and led 6-4 when things went cold. When Formanek hit on a short jumper with 10:06 to play, Perham hadn't scored in nearly three minutes, but still trailed by only one, 9-8.
They wouldn't hit from the field again until Moenkedick scored five minutes into the second half, a 15 minute drought. In that time, Hawley outscored Perham 20-8 (the Jackets did score a few on free throws), and led 29-16.
"We just couldn't knock anything down," Johnson said. "We had a few open looks, but nothing fell."
Despite their poor shooting, Perham kept the game relatively close with tough defense. It wasn't until midway through the second half when they pulled away for good.

"I thought we played very well on the defensive end," Johnson said. "I'm very happy we held them to 48 points."
Hawley (3-0, 3-0 HOL) averaged 72.5 points per game in their first two wins this year against Lake Park-Audubon and D-G-F.
Moenkedick (nine points) and Formanek (five points) were the only Perham players to hit on more than one shot from the field. Schroeer had seven points and a team-high five rebounds.
The Jackets will have "Elvis Night" at Prairie Wind Gymnasium tonight (Dec. 13) as they host D-G-F. Their final two games before Christmas break will be on the road at Wadena-Deer Creek (1-2, 0-1 Mid-State) on Dec. 17 and at Barnesville (2-1, 1-1 HOL) on Dec. 21.
