Twenty teams participated in this year's New York Mills Lions Golf Tournament at Balhepburn, which raised a little over $2,900 for the Lions general fund.
The winning team consisted of Howard Legried, Mary Lee Legried, Dana Rutten and Bruce Becker. Team Legried shot an 8-under, 24, with two eagles and four birdies. Balhepburn is a 9-hole course cleverly carved out of the sheep pasture at Valhalla Farms, owned and operated by Howard and Lou Legried.
In the 20 years since Howard started golfing at Balhepburn the course has evolved, with hole names suited to the course like Sheepshed, Rockytop, The Guantlet, Without Mercy, Windy View, and Double Trouble.
