Lions schedule annual Mardi Gras celebration

The Lakes Lions of Perham have set Friday, February 1 as the day to celebrate Mardi Gras in Perham. The seventh annual event will be held at Mulligan's with a social hour beginning at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

The Lakes Lions of Perham have set Friday, February 1 as the day to celebrate Mardi Gras in Perham. The seventh annual event will be held at Mulligan's with a social hour beginning at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

The evening will include raffle prizes, a silent auction, a meat raffle, and door prizes. Raffle prizes will include $500 in cash and two half hogs. These two prizes will be drawn that night, but individuals entering for the prizes need not be present to win.

You must, however, be present to win the 10 - $50 cash prizes which will be given away throughout the evening. The 10 - $50 door prizes are not listed on the ticket.

"The Hat Lady" will provide entertainment. She says, "Put a hat on your head and a smile on your face, and the world will be a wonderful place!"

A special ceremony to honor Mary Thomas with a Community Service Award will take place during the evening's festivities.

Event tickets are $25 and may be purchased from any Lakes Lions club member or by phoning 346-5899 or 346-4202. All proceeds benefit Lions and a variety of community projects.
