Drill for active shooter response planned in New York Mills

SWAT, first responders and a helicopter will join in an active shooter drill at the Lund Boats factory on Wednesday, May 24.

NEW YORK MILLS — People living in or passing through New York Mills the afternoon of Wednesday, May 24, may see a SWAT team and other first responders at the Lund Boats factory.

The business on West Gilman Street will be the location of an active shooter response drill.

“New York Mills Fire Department will assist area agencies with SWAT Training and Active Shooter Response,” the New York Mills Fire and Rescue Facebook page posted. “In addition to the presence of law enforcement officers, there will also be a helicopter landing to train for emergency medical response.”
