VERGAS — With a shortage of rentals in the lakes area, Spanky’s Stone Hearth owner Josh Hanson is in the process of building some apartments on the shores of Rose Lake, near Vergas.
The location may be familiar for those cruising on Otter Tail County Highway 4, as there were covered wagons at the location. The wagons were rented during the summer months, but Hanson said that left the property unused during the winter.
“There is such a need for rentals, it made sense,” he said, noting that the apartments will have a 900-square-foot footprint.
“They should be ready by October or November,” Hanson said.
