OTTER TAIL COUNTY — Otter Tail County held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the upcoming opening of the remodeled Motor Vehicle/Driver's License Center at the Government Services Center in Fergus Falls. The Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce hosted the event. The new space opens to the public on Monday, March 20 at 8 a.m.

Retiring License Center Manager Cyndi Abbott, incoming License Center Manager Kate Rundell, county commissioners and county leadership were in attendance. Abbot cut the ribbon and ceremoniously handed the "torch" to Rundell.

"In the almost 30 years I have been with Otter Tail County and the license center I have seen many changes in the way the office operates. We started with two separate Motor Vehicle and Driver's License offices," Abbott recalled. "I have enjoyed providing the public with good, efficient service and working with amazing co-workers."

Rundell, with 25 years of supervisory experience, will lead the team at the Motor Vehicle/Driver's License Center. "I am looking forward to serving in this new role as we return to this wonderful new space," she said.

Otter Tail County enhanced the space to better serve the public. The new space has a wide-open seating area to eliminate standing in the hallway and a convenient counter to fill out forms and other paperwork. The new Motor Vehicle/Driver's License Center has incorporated some space previously used by the Land and Resource Management offices. Those offices have been reconfigured, and staff will return to the remodeled space on March 20.
