NEW YORK MILLS — The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center recently announced the opportunity to travel to Finland. “Traditions of Finland” is planned with EF/Go Ahead Tours and will take place Sept. 15-26.
During this 12-day tour, travelers will learn about Finnish arts, culture, and history. The trip includes 10 nights in handpicked hotels, cooking class, beer tasting, wine tasting, guided sightseeing tours to many historical and cultural sites, and a group craft at the world-renowned Iittala Glass Factory .
The tour is limited to 26 people and is not open to the general public on the Go Ahead Tour Site; instead, it is a specialized tour created just for the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center as part of its “Window to the World” program, which offers a travel experience along with related workshops and events held locally. The idea behind this strategy is to offer both an actual travel experience as well as local opportunities to learn about another culture through hands-on workshops, classes, and group experiences right here at home.
