PERHAM — The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office received a call about a house fire approximately 5 miles outside of Perham along U.S. Highway 10 West at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The woman who reported the fire was 64-year-old resident Marianne VanWatermulen, who was still in the home.
She was able to exit the house prior to assistance arriving and was taken to Perham Health with unknown injuries. Three dogs in the home were all evacuated and unharmed.
The Perham Fire Department, Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, Perham Police Department, Vergas Fire Department, Frazee Fire Department and Perham Ambulance all responded to the scene. The home and a trailer parked outside were both damaged.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
