WADENA —The Wadena County Commissioners approved a county disaster declaration in response to the storm that blew through the county on Monday, May 30, 2022.
During the meeting on Tuesday, June 21, the declaration document was approved in the commissioners consent agenda, meaning a quick approval and no discussion.
The declaration notes the county “will execute for and on behalf of Wadena County, the expenditure of emergency funds from all available resources, the invoking of mutual aid agreements, and the requesting assistance from the state, where appropriate, due to the storm …”
Just 18 days ago the area was hit by damaging storms and a confirmed tornado.
