Jacob Fredrick Salomonson, 31, of Battle Lake, appeared in Otter Tail County District Court last Thursday on a charge of domestic assault by strangulation.
The charge relates to an incident in Battle Lake on April 17 in which an unidentified victim was allegedly assaulted and strangled by Salomonson, who then prevented the victim from calling 911.
Court documents show that the daughter of the victim was able to make the call to law enforcement.
Officers arrested Salomonson. A preliminary breath test indicated a .17 alcohol concentration.
Salomonson’s next court appearance has been scheduled for April 30 in Fergus Falls.
