Marcella Clara Kopveiler, 85, a resident of Henning Nursing Home, and formerly of rural New York Mills, MN, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2008.
Marcella was born in Bluffton, MN on June 7, 1923, to Theodore and Clara (Ament) Kaufman. She attended country school #198 and after her 8th grade graduation she worked at home and helped other families in the neighborhood when needed. She was united in marriage to Alfred J. Kopveiler on June 16, 1941, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton. They lived south of Wadena, MN until Alfred went into the army and it was then that Marcella helped at Kriesens. She joined Alfred while he was stationed in Texas and they later returned to the farm south of Wadena. For a time they lived north of Bluffton and in the fall of 1959 they moved to a farm south of New York Mills. In 1983 they built a new home near the farm where they retired. Marcella knew what hard work was on the farm. As a homemaker, the coffeepot was always on. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, farming, gardening, and especially enjoyed her family. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton and the New York Mills VFW Auxiliary.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred in 1995; her parents, Theodore and Clara; son, Alfred T.
