Marvin Isaacson, age 79 of Santa Rosa, CA, formerly of New York Mills, MN died on June 23, 2006 in Santa Rosa. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday July 22, 2006 at the Karvonen and Son Funeral Home chapel in New York Mills. Pastor Don Salo will officiate. Family and friends will gather for an hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, New York Mills.
Marvin Marshall Isaacson was born on March 21, 1927, the son of Wilhelm and Selma Isaacson. As a young man of 17 he entered the US Navy and served with the SeaBees Construction Battalion on Guam. After returning from the service he married Elsie Anderson in September of 1946 in New York Mills. They farmed and Marvin worked on road construction until 1962, when they moved to California.
Marvin is survived by a daughter: Marla Tarver and her husband, Brooks, of Santa Rosa; granddaughters: Deirdre Jones, McKinleyville, CA, Cassandra McLeod, Colleyville, TX, and Araya Isaacson, Danville, CA; grandsons: Jeffrey Tarver, Santa Rosa, Aaron Isaacson, Danville, CA; six great grandchildren; a sister: Bernice Hagel, Tehachapi, CA; and sisters-in-law: Mae Isaacson, Detroit Lakes, MN and Phyllis Isaacson, Perham, MN.
Marvin is preceded in death by his wife: Elsie, who died on March 17 of this year; a son: Ronald; grandson: Adam; his parents: Wilhelm and Selma Isaacson; sisters: Verna Wiebe, and a baby sister, Noreen; and brothers: Roy, Ervin and Carl Isaacson.
