The Perham community is coming together to help and support Kaley Nord, daughter Lydia and expected son, Jack.

Nord, of Perham, is the wife of National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 2 Charles Nord, who was killed Dec. 5 in a helicopter crash near St. Cloud.

On Thursday, Dec. 12, Perham Health, where Kaley Nord is a medical lab technician, began selling memorial ornaments as a fundraiser for the family.

Employees and community members can stop by the Perham Health gift shop to pick up an ornament and give a donation to the family.

"It really tugs at people's heartstrings," said Pat Ferguson, Human Resources Director at Perham Health.

The suggested donated for the ornament is $5. There is a large greeting card provided for those who donate and wish to leave a message for the family.

"It's been a great outlet for people to support Kaley and express graduated," Ferguson said.

It has been Nord's extended family that has reached out the most to help and participation from the community that are making this fundraiser successful, Ferguson said.
