The Millers baseball team finished the regular season third in the Hi-10 standings and will take on #2 Bluffton (7-9) in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday, 1:30 p.m. in Bluffton. NY Mills (6-10) and Wadena-Deer Creek (6-10) ended the regular season with the same record but Mills was given the #3 spot by virtue of criteria. Wadena-DC takes on Perham (13-3) in the first round Friday, 7:30 p.m., in NY Mills.
The Millers forfeited to Fergus Falls on July 12 because not enough players showed up for the game. NY Mills then picked up two forfeits from Frazee on Sunday.
The Millers enter Saturday's game against the Braves in the midst of team turmoil. Player/manager Mike Weller was told this week the team no longer needed his services. Weller injured his ankle earlier this season and had been managing the team the last few weeks before some players decided it best they finish the season without him.
