Mills serves up Battle Lake

New York Mills served an impressive 97 percent (84-for-87) with seven aces as they picked up an important road win at Battle Lake Monday night, 3-1 (25-16, 16-25, 25-15, 25-23).

Kristina Boe led the Eagles with 12 kills. Hannah Rutten added nine kills and six blocks. Brea Welter and Tessa Wegscheid shared the passing duties with 18 assists a piece.

NY Mills was coming off a tough 3-2 loss to Verndale last Thursday.

The Eagles won the first game, 25-19, but Verndale evened the match by winning game two by the same score, then went ahead by taking game three, 25-12. After forcing a fifth game by winning the fourth game 25-16, NY Mills fell in the finale, 15-10.

Boe had nine kills and seven blocks to lead the Eagles. Rutten led the team with 10 blocks, Ashley Hagen added eight kills.
