Motorcyclist injured in crash on Highway 78 Sunday

A Perham man was injured Sunday, July 10, when his motorcycle hit a truck towing a boat on Highway 78.

Wade L. Preston, 52, of Perham, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a helmet. He was taken to the Perham hospital.

According to the State Patrol, a 2007 Chevy Silverado pulling a boat on a trailer was traveling north on Highway 78 in Otter Tail County, attempting a left-hand turn onto Highway 108.

The trailer with the boat were struck by Preston's 1997 Honda motorcycle that was traveling south on highway 78.

The driver of the pickup, Michael G. Rogers, 68, of Wadena, suffered no apparent injuries.

The broadside accident was reported at 10 a.m. Sunday on dry two-lane pavement. The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
