Head Coach: Chris Bushinger (10th season).

Assistant Coaches: Mike Weller (Varsity/JV); J.J. Weller, Jake Norton (Jr. High).

2006 Season: 14-8 overall, 10-4 Park Region Conference (2nd Place). Bertha-Hewitt won the Park Region Conference Championship (22-5 overall, 12-2 Park Region).

2006 Sections: New York Mills was the No. 2 seed in the East Sub-Section of the 6A Playoffs. They beat No. 7 Nevis 31-1 in the first round, then beat No. 3 Menahga 8-7 in the second round. They lost to No. 1 Bertha-Hewitt in the Section quarterfinals, and were knocked out in the consolation round by Wheaton/Herman-Norcross, 14-9. B-H beat W/H-N 14-2 for the 6A title. Get to Know'em: Alex Helmeke (Jr.), Wade Salo (Jr.), Brendan Frost (Jr.), Andy Hendrickx (Jr.), Matthew Knight (Jr.), Cory Perala (Jr.), Jordan Vaughan (Jr.), and Tyler Wegscheid (Jr.).

Strengths: The Eagles are going to have a team that has a great work ethic. They are going to be able to play good defense and be able to put the ball in play. They work hard and they're having fun.

Season Outlook: New York Mills has the defending State runner-up right in their own back yard, both in the Park Region Conference and Section 6A. They will again be the team to beat. Mills, along with Menahga and Sebeka will give the Bears a test in the conference. B-H is also the 6A favorite with Wheaton/Herman-Norcross, Chokia-Alberta and NYM looking to dethrown them.

Coaches Quote: "We graduated 10 seniors last year, so we have a lot of guys that are going to get their first taste of varsity experience. Although our season has been short thus far, and we've only made it outside a couple of times--I like what I'm seeing."
