With a new No. 1 State ranking to spur them on, the Yellowjacket baseball team remained undefeated Monday with a 7-3 win at Moorhead.
Perham got another strong pitching performance from Philip Moenkedick, the senior lefthander went six innings, allowing five hits and three runs, one unearned. All three runs were scored in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Jackets got to work early against the Spuds. Herschel Masinas and Justin Berns led off the first with back-to-back singles and both scored on a Marcus Hendrickson double. Hendrickson later scored, giving Perham a 3-0 lead.

Dylan Anderson singled and scored in the second inning, then walked and scored on an Andy Kratzke double in the third as the Jackets built a 5-0 lead.
Isaac Stoll brought in a pair of insurance runs in the sixth with a two-run homer.
After sitting at No. 2 for most of the season, Perham moved into the No. 1-AA ranking in the most recent Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association (MSHSBCA) poll. They are No. 2 in the AP poll and No. 2 in the minnesota-scores.com QRF poll. MACCRAY is No. 1 in the AP poll and No. 2 in the coaches poll. Glencoe-Silver Lake is No. 1 in the QRF ranking.
Perham will finish the regular season on the road this weekend. They play at D-G-F today (May 24) at 4:30 p.m. The final game will be a long road trip, all the way to Minneapolis. The Jackets will take on Pelican Rapids at the Metrodome on May 26 at 9 a.m.
The Section 8AA playoffs will start May 31.
