The No. 2-AA ranked Yellowjacket baseball team stepped out of conference last week to take on a couple of local foes.
They started by making up a previously rained-out game against Menahga last Friday at Krueger Field, taking the Braves in five innings, 10-0.
Perham wasted little time, putting seven runs on the board in the first inning. Eric Weller started things off with a bases loaded single, scoring two. Andy Kratzke drove in two with another single and it was 4-0. Philip Moenkedick joined in with a RBI single and Dylan Anderson finished the rally with another two run hit.

That's all Perham ace Moenkedick needed. He gave up a lead-off double, then shut the Braves down, allowing just three more batters to get on base, two on walks while one reached on an error.
Ben Warne drove in runs in the second and third innings and Anderson added another RBI in the second to lead Perham to the win.
Battle of the Bees
A lot of zero's were on the scoreboard Monday as Perham beat HI-10 rival Frazee, 8-2. All 10 runs of the game were scored in three half innings, eight coming in the first.
The Hornets put together three hits and two runs on Perham starter Mac Stoll in the top of the first. But he helped get them back in the Jackets half inning. His three-run homer capped a six run outburst. Marcus Hendrickson drove in the first two runs and later scored on a wild pitch.
Both pitchers settled down after that. Perham scored two more in the third on a RBI sacrifice fly by Andy Kratzke and a run scoring single by Herschel Masinas. But they were held in check the rest of the game.
Stoll, meanwhile, allowed just four more hits the rest of the game as he went all seven innings for his fourth win, despite a sore knee.
The Jackets remaining regular season games will be non-conference games on the road. First, they make-up their season opener at Moorhead on May 21. First pitch will be at 5:30 p.m. From there, they go to D-G-F on May 24. They finish the season against Pelican Rapids at the Metrodome on May 26 at 9 a.m. Tickets for the Twins game the previous night are on sale today (May 17) at the PHS Activities Office (see Page 5B).
