Normajane "Jeanie" Veal, age 67, of Perham, MN, died Thursday, November 29, 2007, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. A memorial service was held on Monday, December 3, at 11:00 am in Calvary Lutheran Church, Perham, MN, with Pastor Phil Holtan officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial followed in the Perham Village Cemetery.
Jeanie Brasel was born on February 15, 1940 in Wadena, MN, the daughter of John and Ann (Oldenburg) Brasel. She was united in marriage to Richard Veal on July 1, 1967 in Millbank, SD. Richard died on March 31, 1979.
Jeanie provided daycare for most of her life. She loved making big meals and baking for her family.
Jeanie is survived by 12 sisters and brothers, Jan (Gordy) Pederson of Menahga, MN, John "Jack" (Carol) Brasel of Eden Prarie, MN, George (Gina) Brasel of Toledo, OH, Charles (Kathy) Brasel of Dent, MN, Diane (George) Rux of Perham, MN, Carol (Rus) Schaefer of Detroit Lakes, MN, Vicki DeRung of Anoka, MN, Dale Brasel of Perham, MN, Dean Brasel of Frazee, MN, Lois (Dave) Samuelson of Detroit Lakes, MN, Darla Brasel of Perham, MN and Ed Brasel of Perham, MN.
Preceding Jeanie in death is her husband Richard; her parents John and Ann Brasel; sister Judy Hanson; and a special niece Marge Frey. She will be sadly missed by her family, numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, is in charge of the arrangements.
