NY Mills citywide spring clean-up set for week of May 1

The City will be picking up items during their annual spring cleanup on May 1. The items to be picked up must be sorted by type; some examples wood items in one stack, small metal items in another stack, and so on. Also, if you would like old tires picked up, please make sure that each tire is removed from the rim and that these items are stacked separately.

All items must be curbside by 8 a.m. As in previous years, branches will not be picked up, nor will any hazardous waste products, such as fluorescent bulbs or empty toxic containers. Hazardous items, along with paint cans and spray paint cans, will be accepted during the hazardous waste drive, tentatively scheduled for Sept. 18.

The City will not pick up regular household garbage. There will be a charge for larger items and these must be paid for prior to the pickup at the City Clerks Office. A color-coded, self-adhesive label will be given for each item that has been paid for in advance, and this must be attached to the item for it to be picked up and transported to the landfill.

The following is a list of the larger items and the charge for each item:
