The 16th annual CROP walk will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 5:15 p.m. and send off at 5:30 p.m.

There is a light supper for all participants after the walk is finished. Anyone interested in walking or sponsoring a walker is asked to contact Jan Parta.

In the past 15 years, the NY Mills CROP Walk has raised almost $18,500 for the NY Mills Area Food Shelf and almost $54,475 for Church World Service to combat hunger here in the U.S. and throughout the world.

There is greater need than ever and the 2008 walk is hoping to set a record. The 2007 CROP Walk raised a total of $6,535. Of that, $1,600 went to the NYM Food Shelf.

NY Mills has held the CROP Walk every year since 1993.
