Open swim days expanded to two days starting Aug. 10

The free open swim at New York Mills pool has been expanded to two days a week starting August 10. Area youths will be able to swim free of charge on Tues-days and Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m.

The free open swim at New York Mills pool has been expanded to two days a week starting August 10. Area youths will be able to swim free of charge on Tues-days and Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m.

Bus transportation will be available to pick up and drop off youths in Wadena, Deer Creek and Bluffton. The bus will depart from the Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary front entrance at 1 p.m., the Deer Creek Community Center at 1:10 p.m. and the Bluffton Community Center at 1:20 p.m.

The bus will depart from the pool at 3:30 p.m., arriving in Bluffton at 3:40 p.m., Deer Creek at 3:50 p.m. and back in Wadena at the Elementary School front entrance at 4 p.m. The bus is supervised by Wadena-Deer Creek Summer Recreation supervisors.

Due to the Wadena pool being damaged by the June 17th tornadoes, this free open swim has been made possible thanks to: Farmers & Merchants State Bank of New York Mills, the community of New York Mills, Russ Davis and Wadena-Deer Creek-Bluffton Community Education.

A free open swim will also be offered to area chil-dren from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 14 at the New York Mills pool. Bus transportation will be available in Wadena, Deer Creek and Bluffton.
