Organizers gearing up for 6th Annual Ronald McDonald House bike ride

This year's Ronald McDonald House ride has been scheduled for Saturday, June 9, and plans are well underway.

The campaign was launched in January, at a rally at the New York Mills VFW Club. Raffle ticket sales for a Harley Davidson are being sold now as part of the fundraising drive.

Last year, the Ronald McDonald House ride in New York Mills raised $82,500 for the House. The ride had 850 registered motorcycles with 1,200 participants (some rode double), making it one of the world's largest motorcycle ride events benefiting a Ronald McDonald House.

Other facts about the ride:

  • In 2002, 150 motorcycles, raised $3,300, 55 gallons of pop tabs
  • In 2003, 250 motorcycles, raised $13,000, 120 gallons of pop tabs
  • In 2004, 450 motorcycles, raised $26,000, 330 gallons of pop tabs
  • In 2005, 750 motorcycles, raised $63,000, 480 gallons of pop tabs
  • In 2006, 850 motorcycles, raised $82,500, 1,650 pounds of pop tabs
