An Osage woman was sentenced Tuesday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of terroristic threats.
Kimberly Ann Jokela, 34, was given a stayed prison sentence on conditions including completion of 147 days in the Becker County Jail, community service in lieu of $1,160 in court fines and fees, and up to five years of supervised probation. Successful completion of her probation will result in dismissal of the case.
Jokela was accused of pointing a loaded weapon at a man at an Osage residence on Dec. 22, 2011, and later reportedly threatening to kill herself.
According to the criminal complaint, a man who was at the residence to work on some vehicles in the garage said that he had been aware of an argument between Jokela and her boyfriend the previous day, after which he knew that she had been asked to leave the residence.
After he reminded her that she needed to leave the residence, he went into the barn to work on the vehicles. According to the complaint, Jokela then allegedly came outside to the barn and threatened to use him for "target practice."
