An Ottertail man was charged with four counts of felony criminal sexual misconduct in Otter Tail County court last week for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a young teenaged girl.
According to a report from the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, Mark William Yeo, 55, had been in sexual contact with the girl since 2009; she was in sixth grade at the time. The contact began as inappropriate touching, and by 2012 included penetration.
An investigation on the matter began April 2, when the sheriff's office received information about Yeo from the Department of Homeland Security. Yeo had been denied access into Canada in March after authorities found suspicious sexual materials in his car, the report states. Border patrol also allegedly found suspicious text messages and photos connecting Yeo to the young girl.
Yeo was arrested April 3 at his home on Leaf River Road. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 16.
