Phelps Family Ford and the Perham FFA announced the launch of the 2006 Hometown Scholarship Program, a campaign that will generate scholarship funds for high school students locally, across the state, and throughout America.
In its fourth year, the Hometown Scholarship Program is part of Phelps Family Ford's continuing commitment to FFA in their hometown community.
August 30 - October 31, 2006, Perham FFA members will attend community events to request $5.00 suggested donations in support of their Hometown Scholarship Program. Of that $5.00 suggested donation, 100 percent of the proceeds go to FFA. The Perham FFA) as well as state FFA groups are beneficiaries.
Individuals who donate to the program may register to win a 2007 truck and automatically receive a voucher to redeem a complimentary T-shirt at Phelps Family Ford.
"We encourage parents, families, neighbors and friends of Perham FFA to support this program by providing a suggested $5 donation at local events such as hometown football games and other events throughout our community stated Carl Aakre, Perham High School FFA Advisor. "This innovative program creates scholarship money for FFA members to further their education, attend FFA activities, and enhances the development of Minnesota's future leaders."

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Founded in 1928, the FFA began as an organization of young people who wanted to develop their farming and leadership skills.
Today FFA serves more than 476,000 students who enroll in local agricultural education programs in the nation's secondary schools. These students are served by more than 11,000 agricultural teachers.
