Perham Home Care expands with office serving Detroit Lakes area

Two local health care entities with long standing traditions of providing exceptional care for older adults, are teaming up to provide enhanced home health services to the Detroit Lakes community. Perham Memorial Home Care will open a branch office at Emmanuel Community in Detroit Lakes.

Perham Memorial Home Care was established in 1984 and is the oldest home care agency in Otter Tail County. The agency provides home health aide support, nursing, and other professional services including physical, occupational, and speech therapy in people's homes, with the goal of keeping them independent as long as possible. Perham Memorial Home Care is a service of Perham Memorial Hospital and manages a client base of approximately 150 people.

"The opening of an office at Emmanuel Community offers people in the Detroit Lakes area another choice for home health services," said Dan Peterson, Senior Director of Community Services for Perham Memorial Hospital and Home. "Emmanuel Community has a strong presence in older adult services and we're very proud to be working with them."

Emmanuel Community offers a wide spectrum of older adult services including Emmanuel Nursing Home; The Madison and Lamplighter Manor Apartments with the option of assisted living services; and therapy services in their Center for Orthopedic Rehabilitation Excellence. On a daily basis, Emmanuel Community touches the lives of 500 persons.
