Landmark Liquors of Perham set a new record for their largest single-day sales on Friday, July 2. On this day, bringing in a total of $60,545. Combined with the next day, Saturday, July 3, they also set a record for the largest two-day sales, at $115,110.
Throughout Fourth of July week, Landmark Liquors also set a record for the largest sales week in its history, making $217,917. June sales were down 4.5% from 2020, but they were up 28.5% in comparison to 2019. Due to the success of the store, they are looking to add new people to their staff.
This record was discussed at the Perham City Council's Committee of the Whole meeting on the evening of Wednesday, July 28. Several other items discussed at the meeting are as follows:
- Perham plans to take open space that may be underutilized and change them to benefit community engagement. These changes, called the Parks Master Plan, are still in development.
- Construction on the Perham Area Community Center is on schedule.
- Due to the drought, residents are irrigating their lawns more. Because of this, the usage of water is up by 6 million gallons in comparison to last year.
- Over 3,000 magazine titles are now available electronically through the library.
