Perham mother denied visitation after taking daughter out of state

A Perham mother who took her child out of the state has been denied further visitation rights, for now.

That from a court hearing in Otter Tail County on Thursday.

The father, Brian Cooney, will remain as the sole guardian for 6-year-old Claire.

An order of protection against Miranda Cooney will stay in effect until March 24.

According to Brian Cooney's lawyer, a judge said there wasn't enough time to hear testimony from both sides.

The case will be heard again next week.

The judge will then decide if the order of protection will stay in place or be dismissed.
