Perham plans for 2022 street improvements

In a City Council meeting on the evening of Monday, June 14, the council approved an updated version of the street and engineering plans for 2022.

Improvements for Perham's streets are being planned for 2022. In a City Council meeting on the evening of Monday, June 14, the council approved an updated version of the street and engineering plans for 2022.

These plans include reconstructing parts of the sewer, storm sewer, curb and gutter as well as making other improvements on First Avenue N from Main Street to Eighth Street NE.

More street included in this plan are Fourth Street SW from Third Avenue to Sixth Avenue, Fifth Street SW from Third Avenue to Sixth Avenue, Fourth Avenue SW from Third Street to Sixth Street, Fifth Avenue SW from Third Street to Sixth Street and Pinewood Lane. These plans also include the sanitary sewer in the alley between Main Street and Second SW.

These improvements will be referred to Apex Engineering Group.

Other items approved at the council meeting are as follows:

  • The Perham Area Hockey Association was given a permit to conduct gambling at Suds.
  • St. Henry's Catholic Church was granted a temporary on-sale liquor license for an event to be held on Aug. 15.

  • An increase to the Fire Relief Pension Amount was approved.

  • The council authorized city staff to advertise for sealed bids for the sale and removal of a house and outbuildings at 630 Third Ave. SE.

  • The council accepted a bid for the mill and overlay of Ninth Street SW from Second Avenue to Fifth Avenue.

  • The council approved Brittany Stramer of B Still Yoga to run a yoga class in Paul Miller Park on Monday, June 21 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
