The Perham Police Reserves will be collecting food for the local food pantry during a drive spanning two weeks.

Reserve officers will collect food at Perham's NP Park Sept. 26-27, from about 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food will be collected in the Reserves' familiar, black and white, command center truck.

The crew will again be in the park Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., collecting food during the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce retail promotion "Harvest Festival."

All food items are being accepted, according to Reservist Dale Wright, including meat and frozen products. A freezer will be in the command truck to store the perishable items.

All of the food will be donated to the Perham Area Food Shelf.

NP Park is located just east of the Perham Post Office, in the turtle slide park.

All those who donate food items can place their name in the hat for a prize drawing. Among the prize items will be a jewelry item, courtesy of Dale Wright, longtime jeweler at Perham Jewelry.
