A Perham woman was sentenced Wednesday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of theft by check.

Rachel Rebecca Danielson, 34, of 334 7th Ave., Perham, must serve 30 days in jail and up to five years supervised probation; if she successfully completes probation, the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor. She must also perform community service in lieu of a $1,160 court fine, and make $1,247 in restitution.

Danielson was accused of writing three checks totaling $1,075 at the Backyard Station in Frazee, and a fourth check at Pro Systems in Detroit Lakes for $129. The checks were all written between Oct. 8 and Dec. 16, 2010.

According to the complaint, all four checks were returned unpaid because Danielson's account at First National Bank of Henning had been closed.
