Perham used a dominant defensive effort Friday night in Crookston to pick up their first win of the year, 15-0.
The Yellow Jacket defense didn't let Crookston move the ball all night, holding the Pirates to minus-20 yards rushing, and 68 yards in total offense.
Five Crookston drives were three plays of fewer and they had six drives of 10 yards or less. The Pirates only good offensive possession was a 10-play, 46-yard drive late in the second quarter that resulted in a missed field goal.

The Jackets got all the points they needed the first time they touched the ball. Perham took the opening kick-off and went 80 yards on 12 plays, capping the drive with a five-yard?touchdown run by Nathan Schmitz.
The Yellow Jacket offense put up some impressive numbers, but were only able to get into the end zone twice. Their second score came in the fourth quarter on a five-yard pass from Ben Bucholz to Alex Phelps.
Bucholz finished 14-for-24 for 179 yards. Four receivers caught three passes each, with Ben Waldon leading the team with 42 yards.
The Jackets had 106 yards on the ground, led by Schmitz, who gained 76 yards on 17 carries.
Perham's final score came on a safety with two minutes to play when Crookston's snap on a punt attempt went out of the back of the end zone.
It's Perham's third straight win over Crookston (0-3, 0-2 HOL?North). The Pirates last win was in the 2004 Section 8AAA playoffs.
