PHS/NYM Girls Swimming Preview

Head Coach: Sheri Ressler (4th Season).

Assistant Coach: Natalie Wrangham.

2007 Season: The Yellow Jackets finished with a 4-2-1 record in dual meets and had a 1st Place finish at the Fosston-Bagley Invite. They had their highest finish at the Mid-State Conference meet, taking second place and they were 3rd at the Section 8A?True Tem Meet.

2007 Sections: Perham/NYM finished 6th out of 10 teams at the Section 8A?Meet. Ashley Niemela (2008 graduate) advanced to State in diving.

2008 Seniors: Abby Kratzke, Erika Conlin, Leah Richter.

Get to Know'em: Kaila Formanek (jr.), Whitney Carow (jr.), Maggie Carlson (jr.), Kari Hanson (jr.), Sara Lee (jr.), Leah Restad (jr.), Zoe Potts (so.), Kelsey Kratzke (fr.), Laine Miller (fr.), Bailey Meyer (fr.), Rylie Rothmeyer (fr.),Brittany Roberts (fr.), Lexi Righter (8th grade), Miranda Phelps (7th grade).

Strengths: While only returning three seniors, the Jackets are very deep and experienced. They return 15 section swimmers. Richter (100 free)?and Kelsey Kratzke (100 breast) were All-Conference. Honorable Mention All-Conference returnees are: Conlin (200 free, 500 free), Richter (200 IM), K. Kratzke (200 IM), Formanek (50 free), and Abby Kratzke (100 fly).

Season Outlook: Perham will look to challenge for their 1st Mid-State Conference title. Detroit Lakes is the defending Mid-State champ. The Jackets have their best shot ever at sending multiple swimmers to the State Meet. Only divers have qualified for the girls team in the past. This has the makings to be the school's best girls team ever.
