The Perham tennis team opened their season with a triangular meet at Park Rapids Tuesday. The Jackets lost to Crookston, 7-0, then lost the second match to Park Rapids, 6-1.
Perham's lone win was by junior Gus Rutten at No. 1 singles against Mark Smith of Park Rapids.
"Some of the matches were tight at times and overall Perham's inexperienced team played pretty good," head coach Kyle Knutson said. "We are happy with the improvements the kids are making."
