Perham volleyball coach Dan Christenson was concerned how his trio of homecoming royalty would react on Tuesday after Monday's coronation.

Emily Rutten, Mallory Malikowski and Tiffany Schroeer were queens of the court when they had to be - carrying the Yellowjackets in the clinching set of a four-set win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.

"You never know what's going to happen because there is so much going on," Christenson said. "I felt we were hesitant for most of the match, but they finally came through when they weren't worrying about making mistakes."

Perham (9-3 overall, 4-0 heart O'Lakes) won by set scores of 28-26, 19-25, 25-19 and 25-22.

Rutten, Malikowski and Schroeer were responsible for 21 of Perham's 38 kills in the match.

Twelve of those 21 kills came in the final set - including two in a row by Schroeer to close out the match.

The Rebels dropped the first set by a 28-26 count, and led 24-23 in the opening stanza. That leaves two close games that Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (5-5 overall, 3-1 HOL).

The Rebels evened the match up at a set apiece thanks to a spot-on service game, and some less-than-sharp passing by Perham.

D-G-F had 11 ace serves in the match, and six of them came in the second set - which the Rebels won 25-19.

"That's not something that's characteristic of this group, but it's something we can't let happen," Christenson said. "You have to be able to pass. That's the game.

"If we run into this team again, we're going to have to play much better than this."
