The Richville "Pasture Party" has become one of the most unique events in the East Otter Tail farm and lake country. A mechanical bronco, mutton riding and even hula-hooping were among the activities.
"Our goal was to provide a day of old-fashioned fun that you just don't find many places," said Lisa Werner, Richville Lions. "Something different... such as the pig races, mutton busting, tug of war. It didn't matter what size you were for the tug--if you wanted to do it, we found a team for you. Hopefully, it will leave folks with some wonderful memories of the day they spent out in the middle of a pasture."
A cornerstone of the event is the truck and tractor pull--which was a record this year. With 160 units involved, it was more than 50 units more than past years. There were more than 100 tractors and trucks, and 38 ATVs--which pulled until nearly midnight.
Organizing the 11th annual pull was Arv Widness.
