The funeral services for Robert James Flett, 71, Dent, Minnesota, will be held Monday, at 2:00 pm on December 17, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Vergas, Minnesota with Reverend Gary Klempke officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Vergas Village Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Vergas from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and also one hour prior to the funeral service. Robert died Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at his home in Dent, MN, where he had been under the extended care of Lakeland Hospice since August of this year. Robert had been ill for some time with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Robert "Bob" James Flett was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 1, 1936 to William and Mary (Peterson) Flett. Bob was raised in Minneapolis and attended school there. He worked as a youth at the Minneapolis ballpark and did many other small jobs until he started work in the ceramic trade with Dale Tile in Minneapolis. He began his own business as Tile Craft in the early 1970's.
Robert married Irene Anderson in 1958, adopting her three children and having three children together. They later divorced. Robert married his soul mate Sondra (Powley) Geisler on September 17, 1982 and was a special dad to her two daughters.
Robert enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and football, working with wood, attending grandkids activities and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Vergas United Methodist Church, faithfully attending every Sunday. He served as head usher and lay leader for many years, and was president of the Vergas UM Men's Club.
Robert is survived by his wife Sondra Flett of Dent, MN; two sons, Scott Flett of Elk River, MN and Michael (Patty Moran) Flett of Ellsworth, WI; six daughters, Charlene (Clyde) Reetz of Prior Lake, MN, Rebecca (Walt) Byers and Theresa (Kenny) Behrens of Pine City, MN, Michell (Doug) Regan of Brook Park, MN, Sheri (Jodean) Schoenberger of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Lisa (Scott) Lynne of Ottertail, MN. Also surviving are his brothers David Flett of Maple Grove, MN, George (Lydia) Flett of Minnetonka, MN, Donald (Lynn) Flett of Osseo, MN; a sister Ellen (Gerald) Pederson of Bloomington, MN; 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many, many other family and friends. He will be dearly missed!

Robert's parents, his brother Billy, and sisters Hazel and Shirley preceded him in death.
