Ronald Ray Van Tassel, age 69, of Blaine, formerly Breckenridge and Ottertail, MN, passed away on September 20, 2007. Ron was a stroke survivor of 13 years. He was preceded in death by his father, George Van Tassel; his infant sister, Renae, and his son, Kim George Van Tassel.
Ron successfully owned and operated three garage door businesses: Automatic Garage Door, Ronson Door, and Van Tassel Door/Deluxe Fish Houses, which he hand-crafted with great pride.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon; his mother, Lois Van Tassel; his sister, Marilyn (Ron) Hegle and family; his childred, Kirby (Bertle) Van Tassel, Michelle (Mike) Majkrzak, Todd (Kelley) Van Tassel, Jason Van Tassel and Melanie (Darin) Johnson; his many grandchildren: Janelle, Brandon, Jordan, Ashley, Kelsey, Tyler, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Mari Rae, Zoey, Dane, Austin, Taylor, Amber, Andrea, Christopher, and two great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Brayden. Funeral services were held Monday, September 24, 2007 at the Miller Funeral Home, 6210 NE Hwy 65, Fridley, MN. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
