School board: Kindness week beginning at Prairie Wind

The February Perham-Dent School board meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12:

  • Monday, Feb. 17, is National Random Acts of Kindness Day, which will start off kindness week at Prairie Wind Middle School. Each class will have a board in the hallways where they can post kind messages to classmates. Students will also be able to send kindness grams to other students, these will be available to them in lunch and recess for two for $1. All funds from the kindness grams will go to the local food shelf as part of the school’s current food drive.

  • Fourteen students are leaving Saturday, Feb. 15, to participate in the regional science fair.

  • There will be an art night for grades one through 12 on March 30.

  • Madeleine Lamb, Prairie Wind Middle School eighth-grader, has advanced to the multi-regionals state spelling bee.

  • The March School Board meeting has been moved to 5 p.m. Monday, March 16. This is due to a scheduling conflict and the meeting will be returning to its normal scheduling in April.
