Shelter will be dedicated at Maplewood to fallen soldier Josh Hanson

The Friends of Maplewood State Park are planning to have a picnic shelter put up at Maplewood State Park and dedicate it to the memory of Josh Hanson, son of Bob and Kathy Hanson, who was killed in Iraq.

The Friends of Maplewood State Park are planning to have a picnic shelter put up at Maplewood State Park and dedicate it to the memory of Josh Hanson, son of Bob and Kathy Hanson, who was killed in Iraq.

Bob Hanson is the Park Ranger at Maplewood State Park. Bob, along with his wife Kathy have worked at the park over 30 years, Kathy working in the office. A picnic shelter is a costly item Money raised by the Friends group during their fund raisers will go towards the picnic shelter.

If you would like to make a donation to the picnic shelter, please send it to Friends of Maplewood, Box 259, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572. Checks should be made out to Parks and Trails and write Friends of Maplewood in the memo space. Questions contact John Nordstrom 218-334-6567. The shelter is estimated to cost $30,000 or up.
