Sheriff deputies said the driver of a vehicle was injured at 10:31 p.m. on May 21 in a roadway accident northwest of Perham, at the intersection of Highways 10 and 60.
County deputies, working in conjunction with the State Highway Patrol, said the driver was heading eastward along Highway 10 when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the ditch and rolled his vehicle.
Authorities said distracted driving was a factor in the accident.
County receives boat and water safety grant
With the height of the tourist season close at hand, County Sheriff Office Chief Deputy Reed Reinbold informed county board members on May 21 with the acceptance of $68,000 for boat and water safety programs.

Funding comes from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Water Patrol, based from the county operations center in the town of Ottertail (east of Otter Tail Lake), is responsible for the safety of county residents and visitors who use lakes and rivers within the borders of the county.
Water Patrol deputies maintain a visible presence and enforce compliance with the Minnesota Boat and Water Safety Act, as well as compliance with Otter Tail County ordinances.
Duties also include promoting safe boating activities, assisting boaters in distress, investigating boating-related complaints, conducting safety inspections of watercraft and coordinating educational talks to various organizations.
