Sheriff's Report: Stolen items found, along with drugs

Fergus Falls law enforcement personnel, on Nov. 12, recovered stolen items taken from a retail business and at the same time recovered drugs.

The stolen items and drugs, including methamphetamine, were discovered after search warrants were issued for three locations in Fergus Falls.

Arrested were three residents of Fergus Falls. They included Michael Lee-Stavedahl, 25; Grant Graton, 37; and Renald Lemasters, 33.

Tools valued at $600 stolen north of Underwood

Tools valued at close to $600 were stolen from a business owner at Water Street Trail, north of Underwood and near West Lost Lake.

The call came into the sheriff office on Nov. 15.

Taken were a Ryobi chop saw and Makita cordless drill. An investigation was ongoing

Clitherall resident loses $720 in credit card fraud

A resident of Clitherall reported to sheriff deputies on Nov. 15 the loss of $720 in credit card fraud.

Credit card fraud begins with the theft of the physical card or with the compromise of data associated with the account.

Deputies point out that credit and debit card numbers can be stolen from unsecured websites or can be obtained in identity theft schemes.

"Don't give out your credit card number online unless the site is secure and reputable," said a law enforcement representative.

DWI arrests take place after vehicle accidents

Two residents of Otter Tail County were charged with DWI after they crashed vehicles and then left the scene of the accidents.

Both arrests took place on Sunday, Nov. 18.

One arrest took place northeast of Bluffton, near the intersection of Highway 75 and 370th Street. The vehicle was found off the road in cattails, and sheriff deputies later tracked down the driver and made a DWI arrest.

The second accident and subsequent DWI arrest took place after a mishap northeast of Parkers Prairie, at 5:41 p.m. The location was near the intersection of Highway 40 and Church Road.

Sheriff deputies called to Underwood

County deputies responded to three incidents in Underwood on Nov. 16 and Nov. 17.

An assault was reported at 7:18 p.m. in the downtown area on Nov. 16. Shortly before midnight, also on Nov. 16, a woman was reported to be passed out in a green minivan. Intoxication was the likely cause.

On Nov. 17 a gas drive-off was reported at a convenience store on the south side of Underwood.

Chickens stolen

A resident on Joten Lake Road, north of Dalton, reported several chickens stolen on Nov. 16. The value of the chickens was estimated at close to $100.
