The 7th Annual Lakeland Hospice Motorcycle Ride started off with a fabulous day of clear skies and ideal driving and ended with Lakeland Hospice bringing in over $74,000 before all expenses are taken out. Approximately 647 registered bikers participated in the ride on nearly 447 motorcycles.

The ride started at U-Motors and wound through approximately 130 miles of lakes country side stopping in Dent, Cormorant, and Rothsay and ending up at the Z103 Bar and Grill back in Fergus Falls. A 2008 Harley Davidson Heritage Soft-Tail cycle was raffled off along with cash prizes. The winning ticket was drawn by Brian Andrews of KBRF. Kurt Engels from Brookings South Dakota was present when his ticket was drawn to win the bike.

Community volunteers from the Boy Scouts, Catholic Daughters, Lion's members, Hospice staff and volunteers, road guard volunteers and the motorcycle committee members all helped out to make everything run smoothly. Riders and volunteers came from as far as Brazil, Texas and Florida.

Special thanks go to the top hog sponsors of the Ride: Unicel, Bremer Bank, Dorn & Co. Inc., First State Bank of Ashby, INNOVA Industries, Shooting Star Casino, Security State Bank, Victor Lundeen C., Walmart, Z 103 Bar & Grill and U-Motors for letting the ride start at their business.
